[Bug 451045] New: ThinkPad X61s: hard lock up when on AC and WLAN

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=451045 Summary: ThinkPad X61s: hard lock up when on AC and WLAN Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: christian.jaeger@rub.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Since the betas of 11.1 development I have experienced hard kernel-locks, seemingly at random. Please note: this machine ran absolutely without problems with openSUSE 11.0. Such lock-ups have become less frequent as 11.1 progressed, but they are still there. I think I have tracked it down to the ThinkPad being on an AC connector and connected to a WLAN; running either on battery or not connected to the WLAN they don't occur. Symptoms are a blinking caps-lock indicator and a hard lock-up during which no keyboard input whatsoever is possible (no switching to a console or sysrec-keys). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Do you have the docking station so that you can connect a serial cable to capture information when it freezes? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So I'm afraid I won't have time to learn the procedure of remote-capturing the debug infos. :( Maybe this'll have to wait till after the GM release. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I found this link on forums: http://forums.opensuse.org/install-boot-login/402003-11-1-gnome-kde-cause-la...
