[Bug 476158] New: Wireshark does no longer ask to be started as root and thus can't capture packages
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=476158 Summary: Wireshark does no longer ask to be started as root and thus can't capture packages Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Alpha 0 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dominique.leuenberger@tmf-group.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Updated entire system to current Factpory snapshot, containing Gnome 2.25.90. Wireshark does no longer ask to be started as root but also does not get it's privileges by other means. As a consequence the launcher in the TRADITIONAL menu is non-functional (the one in SLAB actually works!) Probably the traditional / custom menu bar ignores the entry
X-KDE-SubstituteUID=true in the wireshark.desktop file.
