https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732962 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732962#c0 Summary: Authentication window of plasmoid-NM is not showing up upon unsuccessful connection attempts. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: nice@titanic.nyme.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 Plasmoid-NM shows up dialog windows for encrypted WiFi connections upon unsuccessful connection attempts. These windows are used to fix incorrect WPA-PSK keys or WPA-Enterprise passwords for example. The version of plasmoid-NM used in openSUSE 12.1 however, is unable to show these windows. The system tray icon indicates that authentications is necessary (is is augmented with a little key symbol and it even sends a tiny message that some re-authenticaion is necessary), but the authentication dialog itself is entirely missing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configure a wifi connection in plasmoid-NM which needs authentication. 2. Set an incorrect password or PSK 3. Try to connect using this connection Actual Results: Authentication dialog of plasmoid-NM won't show up. Expected Results: Authentication dialog of plasmoid-NM should show up. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732962 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732962#c1 --- Comment #1 from Tamás Németh <nice@titanic.nyme.hu> 2011-12-16 20:09:55 UTC --- plasmoit-NetworkManager's behavior changed in this aspect after the latest updates: It pops up a window when the authentication is unsuccessful, but not the familiar one, but a tiny little window instead. This windows only contains a checbox called "show password" (or something like this), and two buttons "OK" and "Cancel" (or "Yes" and "No"?). Clicking OK makes plasmoid-NM retry the authentication, and it can even succeed afterwards, which is fine. However, the mentioned checkbox has totally no effect, since there is no password form in the window. Is it a but or a new feature? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

However openSUSE 12.1 is no longer supported and KDE4 NetworkManager changed drastically in the meantime. Therefor I close this report. Feel free to reopen if you can reproduce it with a more recent version. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
