http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1123239 Bug ID: 1123239 Summary: Launching "Systemd Journal" via menu shortcut should elevate permissions like other YaST modules Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Factory Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: bapabooiee@gmail.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Most YaST modules, when launched directly through a menu entry in a desktop environment (as opposed to from the YaST Control Center), ask to elevate permissions before starting the given module. However, the "Systemd Journal" module errors-out with the following when attempting to launch its .application file as exposed by a desktop environment: ---SNIP--- Reading the journal entries failed. No journal files were opened due to insufficient permissions. ---/SNIP--- This makes the menu entry pretty useless, since the only non-command-line way to launch the module is to start YaST Control Center and then launch it from there. So thus, I think it should ask to elevate permissions. Thanks! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
