It should be the same one that was on the Install DVD - I remember any updates for OpenOffice coming through. I will test it on Gnome later today to see if I can replicate the problem. If I log in with Gnome first - it works in Gnome. It then also works in KDE, but it is still slower than with Gnome. If I don't have the windows maximised, and select something - then click on the other window and pastes - it works. If I click on the taskbar to get to the other window it waits for 3 seconds before the other window appears, and then the paste doesn't work. I renamed the file you suggested, and everything worked perfectly, then I changed the name back, and it still worked. Later on it again stopped working, and I did it again. It again started working, and once it also didn't work with the file missing. It looks like I am not able to consistently reproduce the problem with my small example file any more. I think a patch might have changed something in KDE, because yesterday I installed SuSE 11.2 on my wife's notebook (almost exactly the same as mine). She then used OO Impress, and it was not able to cut and paste from one document to another. I then installed all patches, and it worked. The problem is not completely gone, because with my fully patched system I still have it from time to time - even with the small file at times. I will see if I can find a bigger document which gives me the problem continuously, and then attach that file, and maybe a video clip of what I do if it is not too big.
