[Bug 422342] New: gpm init script fails for serial, PS2 mice in case of custom kernel compiled with mouse modules
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=422342 Summary: gpm init script fails for serial,PS2 mice in case of custom kernel compiled with mouse modules Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: joerg.jen.der.ek@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User Created an attachment (id=236919) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=236919) A patch for the shell script /etc/init.d/gpm the gpm init script /etc/init.d/gpm in suse 10.3 fails for serial,PS2 mice in case of a custom kernel and the mouse drivers are compiled as kernel modules (sermouse.ko psmouse.ko) and are not part of the initial ramdisc. I think this behaviour also happens in older versions of suse linux. The error can be fixed by running an additional function like module_gpm, which loads the right kernel module depending on the device name (/dev/psaux or /dev/ttyS*). A patch for the shell script is attached. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
