[Bug 826693] New: Not able to connect to protected WLAN's anymore (WEP/WPA enabled networks)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=826693 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=826693#c0 Summary: Not able to connect to protected WLAN's anymore (WEP/WPA enabled networks) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Milestone 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tittiatcoke@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/29.0.1547.0 Safari/537.36 SUSE/29.0.1547.0 It seems that in 13.1 wpa_supplicant is no longer capable of connecting to a protected WLAN. To be sure that it is not in my own installation, I used the 12.3 KDE Live CD and the 13.1 M2 KDE Live CD. With the 12.3 I can connect directly to a WPA-2 enabled network without problems. With the 13.1 setup, I can no longer connect. I already enabled debug logging for wpa_supplicant, but the only thing that I get out of that is that there is a local disconnect and then wpa_supplicant is asking for the password again. This is being repeated over and over again until I cancel the action. I have a Lenovo T410 with a 802.11bgn wireless PCIe Half Mini Card that utilizes the iwlwifi kernel driver. I am using the latest Factory. I have also tried already with the 3.10 kernels, but this made no difference. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use the 13.1 M2 Live image 2. Try to connect to a WEP/WPA protected WLAN 3. Actual Results: No connectivity to protected WLAN Expected Results: Connectivity -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
