Sure. The initial intent of kvmsmall wasn't to be a small package for general
usage for KVM virtual machines. It was to have config that would make building
a kernel for file system testing fast. I put it in git so I wouldn't have to
keep recreating it. That was extended to include the software components of
networking (e.g. netfilter, etc) once some of our networking team started
getting interested in it.
It was initially an incomplete project -- it was close enough. Since merging,
new features enabled in default weren't disabled in kvmsmall, so it got a bit
bloated. I tended to that today, removing loads more modules (mostly
device-specific HID, LEDS, CHARGERs, REGULATORs, SENSORS, drivers for network
vendors that would never be loaded, among misc other things).
I've enabled the modules you've requested in the stable and master branches
since they fit under the "software components of networking" umbrella.
