uname -a Linux linux-3j6w.site 3.7.9-1.4-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 21 16:15:10 UTC 2013 (8dec968) i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Running KDE 4.10, I just used alt-f2 to launch chromium (probably for the first time after the new kernel). I don't have any reason to think it overheated, and I have used the same laptop a lot since then. Note that it was with kernel 3.7.9-1.4-desktop. I was doing 12.3 RC testing at the time, so I am not sure that kernel even shipped as a production opensuse kernel.
