[Bug 484721] New: Yast2 Partitioner shows inexact information in Summary
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=484721 Summary: Yast2 Partitioner shows inexact information in Summary Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Alpha 0 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mvyskocil@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Development When Yast Partitioner module shows a summary about changes, which will be written to /etc/fstab, it still uses a Device name (/dev/fooX), even if changes will be written using another identifier (ID, Label, UUID, ...) For example (Devide ID is selected in fstab options - I think that this is a default option): Yast shows the following summary: --------------------------------- Changes in Partitioning Use /dev/sda7 as swap --------------------------------- but add following line to /etc/fstab: /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST3250410AS_6RY03RYA-part7 swap swap defaults 0 0 Partitioner should print an identifier which was selected in Fstab options in 'Mount By' and will by added to fstab. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

And your proposal has problems. E.g.: Should YaST show the label when you mount-by label (e.g. "Use SWAP as swap")? That would be useless. And the UUID isn't know before the filesystem is created. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
