[Bug 517666] New: Cannot not start X on radeon X600 because it wants to use the "fglrx" driver
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=517666 Summary: Cannot not start X on radeon X600 because it wants to use the "fglrx" driver Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 3 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium AssignedTo: coolo@novell.com ReportedBy: silviu_marin-caea@otpbank.ro QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090628 Minefield/3.6a1pre I'm trying to boot 11.2M3 KDE4 LiveCD on a Dell GX620 with an X600 ATI Radeon card. Normally, this works with the "radeon" driver. However, the M3 LiveCD tries to use the fglrx driver, which does not exist. After login in the console, I've seen that xorg.conf is very short, it does not specify any driver. I suppose it's the new fancy driver autodetection from X. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot 11.2M3 KDE4 LiveCD 2. X does not start 3. just a console login screen Actual Results: Text console login screen Expected Results: An X graphical environment -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
