I have a script that one can use to get current results by running against a factory install: "bzr branch http://dr-zaius.boston.ximian.com/~maw/bzr/rpm-Va" to get it. package gnome-control-center has the following possibly bad files: ..?..... /usr/bin/gnome-passwd

Fairly current results for my system (just gnome packages, and not all of our packages installed):
mw@bs:~/work/devel/rpm-Va> ./rpm-Va-collator.py < rpm-Va.out package gdm has the following possibly bad files: S.5....T c /etc/gdm/custom.conf
S.5....T c /etc/pam.d/gdm
These are configuration files. SuSEconfig.gdm munges with them. So that's ok.
.M...U.. /var/lib/gdm

Unfortunately this package still fails to build due to some problems in the java area. So finding out the false positives out of many is hard, but I think there is still one in g* that deserves fixing: gdm-branding-openSUSE:S.5....T /usr/share/gdm/defaults.conf gdm-branding-openSUSE:S.5....T /usr/share/gdm/factory-defaults.conf gimp-branding-openSUSE:S.5....T /usr/share/gimp/2.0/images/gimp-splash.png These should be %config if they are supposed to be changed. You can exchange the brand from the default {gdm,gdm,gimp}-branding-openSUSE to {gdm,gdm,gimp}-branding-upstream (as they are coming from upstream). None of these files is supposed to be edited. This problem has direct relation to the missing RPM and probably planned zypp feature "Conflict with each other package providing the same symbol". It installs the branding packages over each other and then tests if rpm -V is empty, which it can't be. Rudi is working on getting this sorted out. The only problems I found (only testing the packages on DVD) are: ...L... /usr/bin/gvim M...UG. /etc/cups S.5....T /opt/kde3/share/doc/HTML/en/kdelibs-apidocs/index.html S.5....T /usr/share/sane/descriptions-external/epkowa.desc ......T /usr/share/ant/etc/junit-frames-xalan1.xsl ....UGT /var/lib/misc/PolicyKit.reload None of them are GNOME packages, so this bug is INVALID I would say.
