http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=999550 Bug ID: 999550 Summary: Laptop lockup on lid open: btrfs-transacti: 761 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: milan.zimmermann@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: Customer Blocker: --- I am getting lockups (always) after laptop opening from sleep. This behaviour is new at some point in the last few months - in the same hardware, in was not hapenning in Spring/early Summer Tumbleweeds. I did not update this laptop for several months, this issue is new after update early-September, and still an issue as of 2016-09-16. The system locks up completely, but once I was able to get to the console and there I see, repeatedly: --------------------- NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#3 stuck for 22s! [btrfs-transacti: 761] --------------------- System is AMD A8-6410 laptop, details below uname -a Linux linux-7fcg 4.7.2-2-default #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Aug 29 23:57:41 UTC 2016 (8a962cf) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I confirmed it in various situations with power on/off , short or long close. As a note, I installed the following from your repo: kernel-default kernel-default-devel kernel-devel kernel-macros kernel-source kernel-syms Also, yesterday, when I downloaded the latest Tumbleweed on Sep 30 (http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-i586-Sna...) the issue was still present. Please let me know if /what I can do to help. For now, I will keep your kernel. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Milan, for the report and testing. Based on your previous comment I assume the issue is fixed. Making another assumption about fix propagation from Takashi's repo into Tumbleweed, I'm closing this bug as fixed. Feel free to reopen if the lockups recur. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=999550 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=999550#c7 --- Comment #7 from milan zimmermann <milan.zimmermann@gmail.com> --- The issue was not present in an older kernel from Takashi's repo (the version is shown below), but still present in the Sep 30 Tumbleweed. Since then, I am using the older kernel. I will test, in the next 2 weeks, using a new Tumbleweed, and if it is not fixed will reopen. Thanks for the follow up Libor. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
