I think this is intentional behaviour, just the preview in the print dialog is
wrong.
The individual pages have portrait orientation, but two of those can only fit
on a sheet if that sheet is in landscape orientation. With landscape pages it's
the other way around, and they are printed on top of each other on a sheet in
portrait orientation.
Just to be sure that Cups agrees with what Qt is doing:
When selecting portrait orientation with 2 pages per sheet (default order), Qt
sets the "number-up" option to "2" and "number-up-layout" to "lrtb". The
"landscape" option is not present. Is the photo in comment 2 the expected
result?
