The 2.6.18.2-23 kernel worked just fine, but 2.6.18.2-33 and 2.6.18.2-34 both caused the problem described above. Because of the nature of this problem, and (to my knowledge) inability to blacklist intel_agp from the bootloader this prevents 10.2 GM from being installed directly on this particular motherboard. This also exists, unsurprisingly, in the 2.6.18.2-23-xen kernel. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Looks like those weren't that safe. I assume you don't have any onboard graphics in the hardware right? If yes you shouldn't need AGP at all in this configuration so perhaps it will be possible to disable it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I've tried the kernel from http://software.opensuse.org/download/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_Factory/x86_64/k... on an ASUS P5B-e plus mainboard (Memory 4 GB, memory MAP enabled in the bios). As long as intel_agp is blacklisted everyting works fine, but when I say "modprobe intel_agp" the system freezes or reboots imnediately. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Did you try to use the build-in support of agpgart in 2.6.22-rc4 kernel instead of intel_agp module?
Hmm, no. How can I check this? When I have the intel_agp module blacklisted "dmesg|grep agp" tells me only "Linux agpgart interface v0.102 (c) Dave Jones" but nothing about devices it detected. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
