[Bug 305815] New: libcurl-devel should requires libopenssl-devel
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=305815 Summary: libcurl-devel should requires libopenssl-devel Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: mmarek@novell.com ReportedBy: kssingvo@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development libcurl-devel requires openssl-devel But in openSUSE-10.3 a rename from "openssl-devel" to "libopenssl-devel" happend. So this explicit requirement gives a misleading hint to the user. Please rename "openssl-devel" to "libopenssl-devel". Thanks in advance. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

BTW there're 27 more packages which require 'openssl-devel' -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Didn't check, whether further packages should be changed too. I noticed it just only, because I required "libcurl-devel". :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=305815#c5 --- Comment #5 from Klaus Singvogel <kssingvo@novell.com> 2007-08-30 02:23:11 MST --- Using the real package name, makes it easier to find. With other words: script(s) cannot handle any such situation, where the package name differs from the Requires: field. Shell expansion has a similar problem. Both cost the admin a lot of time. It's only about being nice to the admin. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
