openSUSE 10.3, repository list attached as plain text output from "zypper lr".

Kyzis needs to be installed first, and it's in the standard repos:

as root: zypper install yzis

"Configure Desktop" (kcontrol effectively), "KDE Components", "Component
Chooser", "Embedded text editor", select "Kyzis" from the dropdown, "Apply",
then opening any native KDE application such as konqueror and finding a page
with a text input field.

Expected behavior: kyzis embedded, vi-type goodness everywhere
Actual behavior: vanilla KDE embedded text editor activated
