[Bug 757102] New: lxdm constantly uses high cpu
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=757102 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=757102#c0 Summary: lxdm constantly uses high cpu Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Milestone 3 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: LXDE AssignedTo: andrea@opensuse.org ReportedBy: lee_matheson@hotmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0 openSUSE-12.2 M3 lxdm is constantly using up a high % of CPU. While the PC in question is an old athlon-1100 w/2GB RAM and nVidia FX5200, I note on same PC with openSUSE-11.2, 11.3 and 12.1 LXDE the same problem did not exist. Hence this high CPU load appears to be 12.2 M3 specific. Installation was from a build-0317 32-bit openSUSE-12.2 M3 DVD. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.boot the pc. CPU load is high 2. 3. Actual Results: When no apps are running, lxdm in top consuses around 95 to 98% cpu load. When other apps are running, lxdm still consumes 30% to 50% of cpu load. In openSUSE-12.1 lxdm is consuming less than 10%. This high cpu load impacts video playback and makes the 12.2 install not useful for multimedia playback. Expected Results: CPU load of lxdm should be less than 10% on this PC. This could be an upstream problem as I note other distributions have reported high CPU load with lxdm in March/April-2012. Some users in other distributions claimed changing from their default theme in lxde helped, but I could not find a theme that lessened the load. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
