[Bug 427687] New: spontaneous reboot after s2disk when using usb device
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=427687 Summary: spontaneous reboot after s2disk when using usb device Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: gregkh@novell.com ReportedBy: seife@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: pavel@novell.com, oneukum@novell.com, rjw@novell.com Found By: Development Hi, I know that this is not a good bug report and it is not even readily reproducible, but I have seen it twice during the last days, so I'll report anyway. System is a HP 2510p, core 2 duo, x86_64, kernel-default-2.6.27-rc6.8 After resuming from suspend to disk, USB devices like built in Bluetooth (btusb) and the built in SierraWireless card (sierra.ko) don't seem to work correctly (bluetooth just does not work, the ttyUSB of sierra.ko are persent, but they don't accept any data or respond to "AT" commands). So I unplug and replug the devices by using the Wireless hotkey. I think with btusb, i tried "hciconfig hci0 reset" to reenable the device, but it did not help, but don't nail me down on that ;-) Anyway, using the device afterwards (I'm not 100% sure what I did with bluetooth, but in the sierra case, I just started Umtsmon) just rebooted the machine hard, looked like a triple fault. When I tried to reproduce it today, I couldn't, but I might just have hit a different usage pattern or not hit a race or similar. Since this happened on two different devices, I fear something is wrong in USB hostcontroller land. Maybe you have already heard of something similar? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
