[Bug 779423] New: openSUSE specific KDE strings where not made available to translators
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=779423 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=779423#c0 Summary: openSUSE specific KDE strings where not made available to translators Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: ctrippe@opensuse.org QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.34 (KHTML, like Gecko) konqueror/4.8.5 Safari/534.34 The openSUSE specific translations were not updated for 12.2. So some strings are not translated now. An example is the entry for sysinfo in kickoff. This is now show as "My Computer" but kde4-openSUSE has still the old "System Information" christian@asterix:~> msgunfmt /usr/share/locale-bundle/de/LC_MESSAGES/kde4-openSUSE.mo |grep -A1 -B1 'System Information' msgid "System Information" msgstr "Systeminformationen" Not sure if this can be fixed for openSUSE12.2 as it contains translations but should definitly be fixed for 12.3/13.1 Reproducible: Always -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If you think it is serious enough, we can publish an online update (in this case I'd need the bug assigned to me). For trunk, I'd like to ask kde-maintainers@suse.de to check in the file on there own. kde-maintainers@suse.de is listed as responsible in the MAINTAINERS file (http://svn.opensuse.org/svn/opensuse-i18n/trunk/lcn/50-pot). I do not know who currently read this mail alias, though. I'd would be great if you could help with updating the POT files in the SVN when needed. We'd happily grant commit rights. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks, I updated it in the openSUSE-12_2-Branch in our translation SVN. If you think it is serious enough, we can publish an online update (in this case I'd need the bug assigned to me).
The pot file was created for current Factory packages, but I don't think it should do any harm in the 12.2 branch. I don't think an online update is necessary anyway.

I read the mail alias kde-maintainers@suse.de for bugzilla mails but if also from other systems they get mails that would probably come done to wstephenson, I guess. But If you would give me commit rights, I can try to take care of the KDE-speciifc pot files. Ok, thanks for the background info.

Thanks for the offer. Please create an encrypted password with the attached script and send it to Daniel (jdsn@suse.de); Daniel then will create an SVN account for http://svn.opensuse.org/svn/opensuse-i18n/ for you. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
