[Bug 911526] New: Canna server fails to start
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=911526 Bug ID: 911526 Summary: Canna server fails to start Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 201412* Hardware: Other OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: tcs27@cantab.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The canna server (used by several Japanese input methods) fails to start on openSuSE 13.2: enabling the service in YaST2's Services Manager fails. Attempts to start "cannaserver" manually fail with the message ":cannaserver:Initialize failed", leaving behind a file (/tmp/.iroha_unix/IROHA) whose existence then prevents further starts of the service. The entry in /usr/lib/systemd/system/canna.service seems wrong: [Unit] Description=Canna Japanese Conversion Engine [Service] User=canna Type=forking ExecStart=/usr/sbin/cannaserver -syslog ExecStop=/usr/sbin/cannakill [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target Firstly, the binary "cannakill" is missing. Secondly, the option "-syslog" fails. Thirdly, the version of "cannaserver" that gets installed doesn't know by itself where the canna dictionary is, and needs to be told explicitly (e.g. with: "cannaserver /var/lib/canna/dic"). In its current form, openSuSE 13.2 seems not to provide a functioning Japanese user input method, neither for Japanese locale nor other locales. (What happened here? It used to work perfectly. Please fix...) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
