[Bug 179702] HP nx9420 ACPI BIOS Bug, _PPC always returns 1 instead of 0
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=179702 trenn@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Severity|Blocker |Major ------- Comment #93 from trenn@novell.com 2006-11-03 08:53 MST ------- I possibly found it. I added an EC fix found on bugzilla.kernel.org (#6455) to SP1 kernel. This should fix the battery issue. It's likely that this also fixes the cpufreq bug. As the cpufreq bug is in a mysterious way related to the mouse... EC bugs often show mouse failures as both access the same HW, so it's worth a try. The kernel is here: /ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/kernel/kotd/sles10-i386/SLES10_SP1_BRANCH/kernel-default.i586.rpm (or get the smp kernel if it's a dual core). As ftp syncing might take a while you might want to check the changelog whether the fix is included: rpm -qp --changelog downloaded-kernel.rpm |less should include this entry: * Thu Nov 02 2006 - trenn@suse.de - patches.fixes/acpi_fix_ec_issue.patch: Fix battery/AC status update (#6455 (kernel.org)). Lowering severity, I thought this one is related to a non working fan issue on some HPs. This is also known and came out to be something else. It is still not fixed properly mainline, collecting all things is a pain, but I try to backport these for SP1 soon, too. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
