[Bug 341006] New: DSL component with unclear kInternet integration
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=341006 Summary: DSL component with unclear kInternet integration Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rplewe@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I configure a DSL device to be set up on boot, and to reconnect upon hangup. This works as expected. Now, if I additionally check the box "Enable Device Control for Non-root User Via KInternet", the behavior changes dramatically. Without the non-root user doing anything at all, the DSL connection is hung up when a user logs off from KDE, and is not restored automatically. The help text says: "With Enable Device Control for Non-root User Via KInternet, an ordinary user may control the interface with KInternet." This does not describe the totally changed behavior: the user does not touch anything and thus would not expect anything to happen ("may control" != "will destroy on logout"). I don't think that changing the help text fixes the problem, the expectation is just wildly different from what actually happens. I would expect that everything is as configured (started at boot, restored on hangup), and that the user *additionally* can override this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
