[Bug 928384] New: libvirt: add option to disable bind-dynamic
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=928384 Bug ID: 928384 Summary: libvirt: add option to disable bind-dynamic Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Virtualization:Tools Assignee: virt-bugs@suse.de Reporter: bwiedemann@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de CC: jfehlig@suse.com Found By: Development Blocker: --- Created attachment 632164 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=632164&action=edit dummy patch When testing SUSE Cloud with libvirt, it uses vlans ontop of the libvirt-created bridge. However since that vlan gets the default route, there is trouble to reach dnsmasq which only listens on the one interface. However, currently, libvirt does not have an option to disable the passing of the bind-dynamic option to dnsmasq, so avoiding it needs dirty tricks like sed -i -e 's/--bind-dynamic/--bindnotthere/g' /usr/lib*/libvirt.so.0 Would be nice to have a cleaner way to do this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Would be nice to have a cleaner way to do this.
There is already a slightly cleaner way - use a wrapper: https://github.com/bmwiedemann/automation/commit/7f473cc54762841d3ba76633cb9... Yes it's still not optimal, but it's a lot nicer than monkey-patching a system-wide binary library. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
