/dev/input/event0 up to /dev/input/event17 has been checked, so this is not the problem. - Please switch to text console and back to X. Does this help? - Switch to text console, run "evtest /dev/input/event<x>" (x in [1..7]) and use your touchpad to verify if any of these devices feels responsible for your touchpad (output will be generated in this case). Thanks. Did this problem appear only in the HEAD version of the kernel? Is 10.3 distro kernel working correctly?
Haven't tried it with the distro kernel
Could you please also try booting with i8042.nomux, i8042.noaux, if it makes any difference?
It doesn't
Does using APM instead of ACPI for suspend/resume solve the problem?
Not sure how to achieve that.
Does rmmoding and modprobing the psmouse module fix it?
There is no module psmouse: workstation6l:/lib/modules/2.6.24-rc2-git6-7-default # find ./ -name "*mouse*" /kernel/drivers/usb/misc/idmouse.ko /kernel/drivers/input/mouse /kernel/drivers/input/mouse/sermouse.ko
Also, i8042.debug (kernel parameter) output might be helpful.
In what respect ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This was reported 2007-11-20 for 10.3.1 you don't really expect me to reconstruct that state and test things lon gone by ? Sorry.
Sorry, I am confused by this comment. Does that mean that the bug is no longer present in your current installation? Thanks. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
