grub2-install --target=i386-pc /dev/sda
I don't know how a non-experienced user is supposed to know how to boot from media, start a rescue system, mount sda, mount proc, dev, and sys, chroot and then run grub-install. Perhaps some check could be made during the grub upgrade that makes sure the boot device is correctly configured, because it's obvious that it didn't happen. I'm running on real hardware, not a virtual machine. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
