So far this was OK because yum was the only package that yum-metadata-parser made sense with. This has changed, I've just seen that the new createrepo now requires yum-metadata-parser as well. This will force createrepo users to install yum unnecessarily because createrepo works without yum installed. I've just verified that even createrepo -d works fine with just yum-metadata-parser and no yum. Please make yum-metadata-parser not require yum.
