This has happened before at previous versions of opensuse, hoped it was fixed. The workaround was always to not choose the reboot now, but to do it later. I start the kde live cd and run install from the desktop. Again it froze after the cd was ejected, however, when I did Ctl-Alt-F10 I came in that console and the system continued to reboot. I don't know if the error just didn't occur because of the different hardware and don't know if other user experience the same problem. Right now the system finished the installation and I had a look through the logs but wasn't able to find something. Then I see that all partitions are unmounted, my cd drive is ejected (which didn't contain a cd because it was a pendrive install), and then my system froze. I couldn't switch to another console, totally frozen, had to reset my system. When asked for reboot or return to the live desktop, I chose reboot, the cd-drive opens and the system freezes. Nothing responds anymore, only shutting down by pressing the power button for a few seconds helps. Again: I don't have a serial port. What good would a kernel-debug do? The system freezes only during install, so maybe I would need a live cd with kernel-debug. Don't know if it already contains it, never looked. Anyway, it could be that by ejecting the cd in a later stadium during reboot, ie just before shutdown part is complete, the problem would be solved. I had to try that since I don't use cd's and dvd's that often anymore. So it is only during install, at the very end of it. I noticed after the first reboot, when I choose to reboot later, that unmounting the live image gave a problem, so could it be that the live image is unmounted when the cd is ejected after the install is ready and therefore freezes the system.
