And just to confirm: you are saying that "rd.break" works with traditional initrd, and not just only dracut?
I have these installed:
$ rpm -qa|grep -iE '(drac|initrd|grub)' grub2-2.00-39.8.1.x86_64 grub2-branding-basedonopensuse-13.1-3.4.2.x86_64 cryptsetup-mkinitrd-0_201307311719-2.1.2.x86_64 mkinitrd-2.8.1-12.1.x86_64 splashy-mkinitrd-0.3.13-44.1.2.x86_64 grub2-x86_64-efi-2.00-39.8.1.x86_64 grub2-i386-pc-2.00-39.8.1.x86_64
