A bit sad to have a possible fix, but it does not get tested.
I DO NOT appreciate the sarcasm from the developer here. What did you actually do to resolve the bug, other than package something up for me to test, several weeks after reporting the issue? I provided you the information you requested, and from what I can tell, all you did was scratch your head and assume it was an upstream bug. What's sad here is that no action was taken on your part to help resolve the issue in a timely manner. I spend a ton of time on the openSUSE forums, help customers get going with Linux, and speak directly with the SLES developers, product managers, and developers on a frequent basis. I'm not just some fly-by-night home Linux user .. I use it to make a living -- what I'm reporting here is an issue that a normal user may run into and not be able to fix. So, please, next time just keep the sarcastic comments to yourself and let's work to resolve the bugs in a more timely manner, ok? Personally I gave up on this bug when I saw a comment like "looks like upstream" and "Maybe this will fix it" -- that shows me a total lack of testing, investigation, and attempts at reproduction. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I am no developer. I only spend my free time to look at the KDE bugs in openSUSE. And my time only allows do take an upstream fix and add it to a package. Then I asked if the bug is fixed for you and did not get any response. So my comment was in no way sarcastic, but simply the truth from my point of view. If you would have read http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Bugreport_KDE you would have learned that it is almost always wrong to fill a KDE bug at the openSUSE bugzilla if you don't have a link to a fixed upstream report. Do you really think that the ~3 people looking at KDE bugs in openSUSE can handle ~600 bugs and looking at each one individually? Sorry but this is the way it is. And to be constructive: Did you test the package, I am still more then willing to take the work to make an update? If yes, please reopen the report. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
