By default, it is off, but I do require this for some custom start scripts. waitfornm has $remote_fs as only Required-Start parameter. Because of the boot order of 1. $localfs: boot.localfs 2. network (parameter localfs) 3. $remotefs: $local_fs +nfs +smbfs 4. network-remotefs -> call network with parameter remotefs) 5. network (parameter remotefs) $remote_fs (and network!) is provided, before a network connection is established. Therefore waitfornm and network-remotefs are started at the same time. So, it only works half of the times. Please modify waitfornm to # Required-Start: $remote_fs network-remotefs BTW: waitfornm uses a fixed timeout of 25 seconds. I would prefer, if it would use /etc/sysconfig/network/config:NM_ONLINE_TIMEOUT Depending only on network-remotefs would not guarantee, that the boot process really waits, until a network connection is established.
