[Bug 303956] New: Compiz factory does not save settings
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=303956 Summary: Compiz factory does not save settings Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Xgl AssignedTo: dreveman@novell.com ReportedBy: coomac@gmail.com QAContact: bperry@novell.com Found By: --- The version of compiz in factory (0.5.x) removes all user settings each time it is restarted. Not only does it remove user settings, it deactivates all plugins, so compiz loads without any window decorations, the ability to move windows, etc. Ccsm can be used to enable these plugins and they all work fine until compiz is restarted. I'm using the compiz fusion set of plugins. The default.ini file under ~/.config/compiz/compizconfig is recreated each time compiz starts with all the options set to false, which is probably where the issue comes from. Interestingly, setting a user profile in ~/.config/compiz/compizconfig/config enables all the plugins that would be enabled on a default compiz setup. The process of creating the user_profile_name.ini seems to be what does it. Not sure why. Anyway, to get compiz running with minimum plugins at each boot, I added a line to my ~/.kde/Autostart to delete my user's .ini file. It gets recreated right away and compiz works... with default plugins. Again, I can change plugins, but for only that session. For comparison's sake, the version of compiz-git (0.3.x) in cyberorg's repo does not have this issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
