[Bug 426441] New: baselibs.conf handling in older dists

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=426441 Summary: baselibs.conf handling in older dists Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: 64bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: BuildService AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: wolfgang@rosenauer.org QAContact: adrian@novell.com CC: mrueckert@novell.com Found By: --- I have the following baselibs.conf snippet in mozilla-xulrunner190: mozilla-xulrunner190 +/usr/lib(64)?/xulrunner-.* +/etc/gre.d/.* recommends "mozilla-xulrunner190-gnomevfs-<targettype>" That appears to work correctly in OBS for 11.0 but not for 10.3 and 10.2 (and most probably older ones) where it says: .. creating baselibs bad line: recommends "mozilla-xulrunner190-gnomevfs-x86" -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

You may want to build against the openSUSE:Tools repos for 10.3 and 10.2 instead. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It basically means that I can't optimize for 11.0 and Factory (actually fixing dependency bugs) without branching the whole package and maintaining two instead of one. I don't want to build against random repos for a heavily used public project. Is there no other OBS internal way to fix that? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It is even not a runtime dependency, so your users do not need to add the repo. We will not touch the packages in the release openSUSE:10.x projects at least, we could release an update via openSUSE:10.x:Update project, but that would basically the same for you as building against openSUSE:Tools. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
