[Bug 253414] New: knetworkmanager need GUI to manage known networks
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=253414 Summary: knetworkmanager need GUI to manage known networks Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: robin.knapp@fujitsu-siemens.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Currently, knetworkmanager adds new networks "automagically" to its knetworkmanagerrc file. I experienced several situations where information is not stored correctly or completely where I had to edit this text file manually. A GUI to add, edit and remove known networks and maybe set priorities would be very helpful and would make knetworkmanager more intuitive and reliable. In short: I need more control over stored networks. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I was already discussing that with Helmut and we will try to have a solution for OS10.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

IIRC I had the a similar effect using WPA2-PSK encryption at home. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Robin, can you please try if the packages from [1] fix your problem?
I've successfully tested this with a self-compiled RPM using your patch from Bug 253413, comment 10 I just tested once, but with the old package I could reproduce it in all cases, so I think this is fixed now :) Anyway I won't have much time to do further and more intensive tests... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
