[Bug 752561] New: Zypper parse error after trying to add not reachable AMD server repository
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=752561 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=752561#c0 Summary: Zypper parse error after trying to add not reachable AMD server repository Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: spanther@t-online.de QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.2 After adding all official wanted repositories from this website: http://de.opensuse.org/Paket_Repositorys I tried to add the ATI/AMD repository too: http://de.opensuse.org/Paket_Repositorys#Propriet.C3.A4re_AMD.2FATI-Grafik-T... This url didn't respond, after a later check. I tried to add this one at first with Repository Manager GUI (add URL) and it said that it can't find this url and I should try another one. I cancelled this then and closed the repository manager. But now, everytime I use "zypper update" I get a weird error about this ATI/AMD repository with a parse error, while it isn't visible inside the repository list at all! 0030673ced68:/home/spanther # zypper update Dienst 'openSUSE 3rd Party Repository AMD/ATI' wird aktualisiert. Unerwartete Ausnahme. Parse error: repoindex.xml[186] xmlParseEntityRef: no name Verlauf: - repoindex.xml[186] EntityRef: expecting ';' Machen Sie bitte darüber unter https://bugzilla.novell.com/ einen Bug-Report. Anweisungen finden Sie unter http://de.opensuse.org/Zypper/Troubleshooting. 0030673ced68:/home/spanther # Since in fact this "openSUSE 3rd Party Repository AMD/ATI" (as I named it while trying to add) isn't inside the repository list, this parse error is just weird. zypper lr -d didn't show it either and a rpm database rebuilt didn't help either. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Adding legit repositories 2. Adding this not reachable repository 3. edit the url a little bit and try again, then close the manager Actual Results: I couldn't use zypper install or zypper update anymore, because of this error any other attempt of installing fails. Through yast "install/remove software" I get this "can't resolve" parse error too, but there I still can check software and install. But not with Terminal and "zypper install xxxxx" command. Expected Results: It shouldn't ask for this repository which isn't inside list officially and it shouldn't give a parse error, which blocks every "zypper install programnamehere" attempt with this error. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I tried to add the ATI/AMD repository too:
http://de.opensuse.org/Paket_Repositorys#Propriet.C3.A4re_AMD.2FATI-Grafik- Teiber
Looks like the site is not available. Does not work for me either. @Coolo: Anything known about the ATI repos? Just a temp. outage or does the page needs fixing? (Please close or reassign if necessary)

@Sven Peter:
Looks like it is (or has been added as) a service ('Dienst') not a repository.
Try:
zypper ls
This should list the sevice. If so, use 'zypper rs

@Sven Peter: Looks like it is (or has been added as) a service ('Dienst') not a repository. Try:
zypper ls
This should list the sevice. If so, use 'zypper rs
' to remove it (like with repos, the name or number in the 'ls' list will do).
This worked. I Searched the net before but couldn't find any solution, so after asking inside IRC and still no solution I thought it was a bug. Well, since I ever marked "URL" inside repository manager it was weird (for me) that this entry was inserted as service, instead of a repository like all the others before too. But with your command, I could remove the wrong entrys. Problem solved! So I have to say thank you very much! :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
