To reproduce, compositing/desktop effects need to be disabled. wstephenson wrote "i've seen it on my intel comp" After changing plasma theme to anything else and back to "Air openSUSE", the bottom panel looked normal again. But after next reboot, the bug was back. The "Air for Netbooks" theme also looked rather strange (independent of reboot). e.g. the logout/shutdown/reboot popup had black text on black background. If I use a different resolution, it goes away (but not always).
