[Bug 695762] New: tsclient has become non-responsive (or at least partially so)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695762 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695762#c0 Summary: tsclient has become non-responsive (or at least partially so) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Greg.Freemyer@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 tsclient is responding to: - minimize - restore (via unchecking minimize) - moving the window But the tsclient specific actions of clicking on icons in the window, right clicking on the icons is all ignored. Further, clicking x in the upper right corner of the window had no effect. I was able to Alt-F2 and launch another instance. The second instance is working fine. I have moved the inop window to a unused KDE desktop and have just left it there, so it can sit for a couple days if there are any troubleshooting things I can do. == environment OS: 11.4 with Tumbleweed updated to roughly May 20, 2011 version KDE4.6 tsclient-2.0.2-22.1.x86_64 == what I was doing I often leave tsclient running for extended periods, then open up a specific remote connection as needed. Today, it has been running for a couple of days and I have likely launched multiple remote sessions from it. ===
ps -ef | grep tsclient gaf 23273 2963 0 May22 ? 00:00:01 /usr/bin/tsclient ===
Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: I run tsclient a lot. This is the first time I have seen this behaviour. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695762 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695762#c1 --- Comment #1 from Greg Freemyer <Greg.Freemyer@gmail.com> 2011-05-25 00:18:29 UTC --- I later found there was a dialog box hiding behind some other windows. Once this dialog box was completed, tsclient came back to life. The dialog box was for "reconnect to ..." I don't know if there is a way for that dialog box to forced to the foreground if the tsclient window is selected. If so, I think that would be an improvement. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I don't even know if it works at all with 12.3. To recap, the issue was a hidden dialog box which should of had the "stay on top" feature set so it could not be ignored.
