https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220115 Summary: xemacs rpm contains strange xemacs-21.5-b27-45416674.dmp file Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: mfabian@novell.com ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: qa@suse.de
From ARCHIVES.gz (Factory in beta2 state):
/inst-source1/suse/i586/xemacs-21.5.27.20060705-20.i586.rpm: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3399228 Nov 7 02:09 /usr/bin/xemacs-21.5-b27-45416674.dmp (and similar ones for x86_64 and ppc with slightly different names) In #opensuse-factory, Beinerli pointed me to bug 98715 which says that this file should really be there. But he also said that there's such a file (with a slightly different name) on his system for each xemacs package he had installed (he has 12 of them now) - at least this looks like a (packaging?) bug to me. BTW: If there's a way to move this file to another directory, please do it. It worries people if they find non-executable files in /usr/bin/ ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

And I have only one of these files on my system although I updated both the whole system and the xemacs packages countless times. I.e. I cannot reproduce any problem. → WORKSFORME. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
