http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=961093 Bug ID: 961093 Summary: Cannot find kernel-default-debuginfo package for kernel-default-4.1.13-5.1.x86_64 kernel Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Development Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: zren@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hello! I played with systemtap on Leap42.1, and came across an problem that I cannot find debuginfo package for this specific new kernel version kernel-default-4.1.13-5.1.x86_64, while it's OK for 4.1.12 version! I tried the following: 1. on 4.1.13, `zypper in kernel-default-debuginfo' can get version 4.1.12 for me. I failed to make systemtap work with it. 2. I searched here(http://download.opensuse.org/) for kernel-default-debuginfo of 4.1.13 version, but cannot find. 3. I had to reinstall kernel-default-4.1.12 and relative packages which I removed before, then with kernel-default-debuginfo of 4.1.12 version, systemtap can work well. Packages available on my machine now: laptop:/home/systemtap/systemtap/EXAMPLES/general # rpm -qa|grep kernel kernel-default-4.1.13-5.1.x86_64 kernel-default-debuginfo-4.1.12-1.1.x86_64 kernel-firmware-20150925git-1.1.noarch kernel-default-devel-4.1.12-1.1.x86_64 kernel-debug-devel-4.1.13-5.1.x86_64 kernel-default-4.1.12-1.1.x86_64 kernel-devel-4.1.13-5.1.noarch kernel-macros-4.1.13-5.1.noarch kernel-default-devel-4.1.13-5.1.x86_64 nfs-kernel-server-1.3.0-11.1.x86_64 kernel-devel-4.1.12-1.1.noarch kernel-source-4.1.13-5.1.noarch kernel-debug-4.1.13-5.1.x86_64 Is the 4.1.13 kernel debuginfo package missing? Or is this expected? Please correct me if I'm wrong. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

*** Bug 961094 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Sorry, when I was submitting this bug, the web page crashed, after it restored I made a mistaking click. I find another problem that may be relative when installing updates: patch:openSUSE-2015-879-1.noarch conflicts with kernel-default-debuginfo.x86_64 < 4.1.13-5.1 provided by kernel-default-debuginfo-4.1.12-1.1.x86_64 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

This is really annoying as it is not possible to debug on leap properly without having to compile from source. It has been reported multiple times now, the first report being bug #958084
a workaround is to go back to version 4.1.12 kernel, hah -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
