BUT if I click on the same column by touchpad left button, sorting WORKS!! Could you please test whether clicking headers in '/usr/lib/qt4/examples/itemviews/basicsortfiltermodel/basicsortfiltermodel' contained in the package 'libqt4-devel-doc' works?

If I click on the column headers in qt software management the arrow appears in that header and also toggles up and down with subsequent clicks but the columns contents remain static in what appears to be a totally unsorted state. Possibly raven4raven can check for the arrow movement in the column headers and if he doesn't have that then his problem is different to mine. Start yast2 sw_single select summary, and "keep" to get a list of all installed sw. Now right click on any installed package and select "all in this list"
OR from dopdown select "package" -> "all in this list"
in both cases: Using mouse, all is o.k. usin tablet, no submenu will pop up! Are you using 11.1 or factory?

Bug 478841 is not a duplicate, this bug is a different issue with a different version of yast. My bug only occurred in 11.2 alpha I never had this problem with 11.1. Therefore it is only the right panel, which displays the actual packages which doesn't sort. I have time on my hands at the moment, if someone can point me in the right direction as to the exact wigets used for the qt ui maybe I can reproduce this problem in qt designer and if it is indeed a qt4 problem pursue it upstream.
