Therefore IMO the behavior is correct. You can select packages coming from the new repository (e.g. KDE4 Factory) and update all of them via the package selector. The UI now refers to the update candidate the solver chooses according to the rules for architecture and vendor change. This is correct, but we lost the 'convenient' part. (@Duncan: The "update all if newer version available" label is missleading, maybe you can change it as well.) Duncan is about to fix the UI, to implement Wolfgangs usecase. Maybe this could be done with some colour highlighting building on the existing scheme: * red=No or older package available * blue=non-vendor-change update available * someOtherColour=vendor-change update available Maybe the context menu should also have two update options - "update" and "update with vendor change" If people are forced to manually select packages via the Versions tab, they'll screw it up.
