Alberto - Could you please try the newer OOo packages in Unstable and see if you can still reproduce the issue? If you are able to reproduce the issue with the newer packages, could you also provide some additional information about your video card setup and whether or not your using compiz / XGL, etc? If I open a spreadsheet and scroll it, it sticks there for 15 seconds before rendering the sheet, and if the sheet contains a plot, the system becomes unresponsive for some time (20-30 seconds). To make the problem really bad, fill two columns with some values and then create a plot. The same happens in Impress, where everything is a lot slower than in calc, even without doing anything. It takes very long to render the initial window when opening it, after selecting "New presentation". Also could you please try to run "top" in a xterm next to the OOo window and see if there is anything strange: + if only OOo eats all CPU + if it is heavily swapping or so Finally, do you have 32-bit or 64-bit system?
