If winecfg is started the following output is given and the application aborts: Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/56-user.conf", line 9: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated. It worked with a new WINEPREFIX therefor I tested with renewed dll files but this wasn't the problem. I found some old printers in system.reg (Sytemregistry file) and older wine versions just ignored this. But the new winspool.drv does not, it checks for them over CUPS and gets a timeout. After it, it just stops the execution which is not nice. This will maybe hit some people who use printers on different locations which winspool.drv cannot reach everytime. To fix this problem for me, I just deleted the printer entries in system.reg (the entries [System\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Print\\Environments\\Windows 4.0\\Drivers\\Version-0\\PRINTERNAME] and there reg values underneath). After starting winecfg again, it read the printers again from CUPS and all went well. Hope this helps you a lot.
