The configuration of the hw (that work fine, and where I can easily install a SL8) has an Adaptec 2100S SCSI driver and Seagate RAID1 hd's. I was able to perform the installation going step by step, starting from a minimal text based setup, and adding othen packages later. Now, when trying to put the system to work, it uses to hang after some time. It can be ping'ed from another pc, but no other answer. I have seen in the net other messages regarding this drive and problems related to it.

From the Linux Support I have been proposed to investigate if the problem has been solved with patches to 10.1 (unfortunately I haveonly the first release of it), or at least will be solved in 10.2. I would ask you to consider this problem. The involved hw is good and work fine, and can usefully used.
