https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=761799 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=761799#c0 Summary: Thunderbird process still available after logout Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: holgi@suse.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: Component Test Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=490483) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=490483) Output of ps auxf I'm using LXDE as a WindowManager. Sometimes it happens that after closing Thunderbird and logging out from LXDE the Tunderbird processes are still running. You will recognize this after logging in to LXDE again as the same user and try to start Thunderbird. You will then get a message: "Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must fist close the existing Thunderbird process, or restart your system." Attached is output of a "ps auxf" after logging in to such a LXDE session where Thunderbird is still running. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

From my experience there are usually addons which prevent that Thunderbird or Firefox do not close correctly. (Tracker* was one of the known ones but there might be many more.) If that's the case nothing can be done really.
If it can be reproduced w/o third party addons as well, I'd like to hear about it. Otherwise if it's known which addon causes the issue I'm happy to try to get it fixed upstream if possible but for the moment this is not enough information to reproduce. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
