[Bug 235719] New: opensuseupdater: checking kills my connection
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=235719 Summary: opensuseupdater: checking kills my connection Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: qa@suse.de OSU is way too agressive -- when it is checking the last patches I cannot get connection -- for example I cannot load a web page. Please, optimize the amount of data is being transfered and do not use connection to the maximum. It is only _checking_ after all. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=235719#c2 Duncan Mac-Vicar <dmacvicar@novell.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED --- Comment #2 from Duncan Mac-Vicar <dmacvicar@novell.com> 2007-11-09 05:42:42 MST --- ZYpp will only check one file to see if the repo has changed. If the repo changed it will be redownloaded. In 10.3 if the files to download are present in a older repo they will be taken from the local cache (if the checksum is the same). Also in 10.3 we compress YaST2 metadata format. This will report will be closed as the basic issues are fixed. You can expect more improvements in future version like diffing, bandwidth limits, and other optimizations to metadata. Feel free to send patches too. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
