Jon, does the filesystem have any special (UTF-8) characters in filenames? Handling of those has changed in VFAT lately. What if you mount the filesystem as: mount -t msdos /dev/sdb1 /mnt You have to be root to do that... I've seen the same errors when the cord was plugged in enough to get power, but not data. I have an older, smaller version of the same camera (same id's 2770:915d). It works for me on OpenSuSE 11.1. On my Gentoo box, I've found that this camera works for kernel 2.6.29 but is broken with 2.6.31 (and 2.6.30). (By broken I mean same unmountable behavior as above.) While I have found that both 2.6.29 and 2.6.31 have an active unusual_dev entry (in drivers/usb/storage/unusual_devs.h) for this device, I found that deleting this entry from 2.6.31 allows the device to work again.
