[Bug 437968] New: Typo and usability issue in deprecation output of ntpdate
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=437968 Summary: Typo and usability issue in deprecation output of ntpdate Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 3 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: gp@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Product Management There is a typo in the output below, and two things that should be improved for better style: # ntpdate ntp.org !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The functionality ntpdate offered is now provided by the ntpd daemon itself. If you call ntpd with the command line option -q it will retrive the current time and set it accordingly. Please check the Network Time Protocol (NTP) daemon man page and the URL http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Dev/DeprecatingNtpdate for further information. The ntpdate program is deprecated and shouldn't be used any more. You can replace the ntpdate call with "rcntp ntptimeset" to achieve an inital poll of the servers specified in /etc/ntp.conf. Typo: "retrive" should read "retrieve". "shouldn't" should read "should not". And as a style improvement, it will be good to indent the URL by two (or so) spaces at the beginning of the line. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
