https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=333181 Summary: KDE logout dialog displays "Suspend Mode" even when disabled Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: jo@feuersee.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- To reproduce: Start YAST, goto System -> Power Management -> Suspend Permissions, disable all suspend modes (a likely configuration for non-laptop machines). With these settings, when logging out of a KDE3 session, the "End Session for User ABC" dialog displays an option box for selecting "Suspend Mode" and (if chosen) tries to suspend. If chosen, the selected suspend mode is tried, but will most likely fail (since it's disabled / not configured). Thus, any guest account may take down a NFS server with a wrong click (ok, you may argue why a nfs/mail/* server would offer KDE logins, but the point is that users tend to click on the wrong buttons, so it's a good idea not to display wrong choices at all). The above happened on all 3 machines I updated from openSUSE 10.2 to 10.3 Under 10.2 the logout dialog didn't offer any "Suspend Mode" when these were disabled in YAST. The "Suspend Mode" option only appears in the mentioned dialog, no in the KDM login screen. kdebase3-3.5.7-87 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
