[Bug 726924] New: home:lrupp:request-tracker/request-tracker: Inclusion request for devel:lang:perl
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726924 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726924#c0 Summary: home:lrupp:request-tracker/request-tracker: Inclusion request for devel:lang:perl Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software AssignedTo: lrupp@suse.com ReportedBy: darin@darins.net QAContact: opensuse-communityscreening@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I don't know if you're interested in this, but would you be willing to have the request-tracker package include in the devel:languages:perl repository? It's inclusion would greatly simplify how users could install RT onto their systems. Additionally I have a number of RT extensions packages, link below, which require the request-tracker package to build, and including is in d:l:p would allow me to publish those extensions in d:l:p as well. If not d:l:p perhaps another repository? I've been perusing the repo server and the closest thing I've been able to find was server:php:applications, maybe creating server:perl:applications or server:perl:request-tracker would be more appropriate. https://build.opensuse.org/project/packages?project=home%3Adeadpoint -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Good question, indeed. * RT is similar to OTRS - which lives in network:otrs. * RT used a lot of perl modules (koha in Education repo also does) Having RT in d:l:p is maybe not where people start their search, but they would be able to install RT with just one additional repository enabled. So I like to follow your suggestion and place RT in d:l:p once it is usable. Maybe we should request something like perl:applications later, if the amount of applications is growing. Back to you: do you think the current request-tracker package in home:lrupp:request-tracker _is_ usable? Should it be renamed as "request-tracker4" or "rt4" ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726924 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726924#c2 Darin Perusich <darin@darins.net> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEEDINFO |NEW InfoProvider|darin@darins.net | --- Comment #2 from Darin Perusich <darin@darins.net> 2011-10-31 14:23:38 UTC --- I absolutely feel the current request-tracker package is stable, I've deployed it in production at my employer and we've been using it for a month without issue. I've taken the SRPM from Oct 7 and built the package and made it available from an internal repo server. Then I add that repo and the d:l:p, then "zypper in request-tracker", and setup the DB, apache, and it's ready to go. I've done this numerous times on a testing server which runs opensuse 11.3. We might want to add some "Provides" for the package itself. At a minimum the package provides perl(RT). I don't think the package needs to be renamed. Concerns that someone might install an older version of RT are unfounded because one doesn't exist. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks for all your suggestions! Let's keep in contact here and via PM. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
